To truly grasp the narratives of the Palestinian people, it is important to understand the history of Palestine.

Nestled in the Eastern Mediterranean, Palestine shares its borders with Jordan and Lebanon. Preceding the transformative year of 1948, the land bore witness to a harmonious coexistence of Muslims, Christians, and Jews, all deeply rooted in the region, especially within the sacred city of Jerusalem.

The post-World War I era ushered in a shift in the dynamics of Palestine, as the League of Nations granted Britain a mandate to administer the territory. The British Mandate, aimed at creating a "national home for the Jewish people", set in motion a series of events that would alter the course of history.

Within the confines of the British Mandate, proposals were made for the establishment of distinct Jewish and Arab states. Yet, these propositions came with opposition from both sides. Tensions began to escalate between the Arab and Jewish communities, erupting into violence and social upheaval, which presented a challenge for British authorities in their quest to find a solution to the growing unrest.
